Cluny Room, NUSS Kent Ridge Guild House
Global Alumni Network Office
Navigating the maze of grants available can seem a daunting process for many businesses. So Global Alumni Network Office (GANO), NUS Business School, took the opportunity to invite alumna Angela Sim (BBA 1998), Managing Director of ROI Strategy Consultants Pte Ltd, down to the second instalment of the Mind My Business networking series to take fellow alumni through the choices available.
Following a lively ice-breaker session, which had attendees paired to find out in a few short minutes as much as they could about their partner and the business challenges they faced, Alumni Host, Mr Ow Tai Zhi (BBA 2011) invited on stage, Angela and Mr Kirpal Singh Sidhu, a registered consultant with the SME Centre and KaDO Productivity Consultancy. The two consultants went through a highly informative presentation that cleared up the myths around grants for the audience.
Hot topics for the Q&A session that followed were the various vouchers available for SMEs to use to grow their business and the Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) Scheme.
Attendees stayed on to network with fellow alumni after the education segment of the evening drew to a close, many sharing their experiences of taking up various grants and schemes and offering advice. Alumni also expressed gratitude to GANO for arranging the evening to educate on the often-misunderstood topic of grants available to Singapore businesses and they look forward to the next session of Mind My Business.
